Whether by four wheels or four legs, there will be multiple modes of transportation around the festival. Revelers can enjoy trolley rides from noon until 5 pm, and carriage rides will be available from 1 until 4 p.m. Carriages can be picked up at 2 locations: in the lot for new restaurant The Manhattan Project (behind Nancy’s Bagels), and also at the Walgreens at the
corner of Ewing and Frankfort. The Manhattan Project
will also be offering drink and food specials for those
waiting for the carriages.
Speaking of four-legged friends, the annual dog walk has gotten a bit of a makeover as well, incorporating Frankfort Avenue’s two locally owned pet stores. Registration and costume contest will begin at 11 a.m. at Barkstown Road at Frankfur Ave. The walk will start at Noon and will go to Pet Wants on The Avenue where Santa Paws will be waiting to take pictures with pets from 12-3.
“From caroling to carriages, our holiday experience is like no other in Louisville,” said Lindsey Howard, owner of Pet Wants on The Avenue and Olde Tyme Christmas chair. There is something for everyone, folks of all ages. This is not only a celebration of the season, but of the continued resurgence of one of the great neighborhoods in our community.”
No Christmas spectacular would be complete, of course, without jolly old St. Nick. Be sure to get a snapshot with Santa at Margaret’s consignment in the afternoon.
